SwiftCause

Terms of Service

Terms for organisations using the SwiftCause fundraising platform.

Version v1.0 · Last updated 12 September 2026

Review status and acceptance

They describe the intended service relationship and are not a substitute for the final signed agreement with a charity or other organisation.

By using SwiftCause after the final terms are published, an authorised organisation agrees to the applicable terms. Individual donors use the donation and Gift Aid journeys subject to the instructions and terms shown by the relevant charity and payment provider.

The service

SwiftCause provides tools for charities and other approved organisations to configure campaigns, accept donations, support Gift Aid workflows, operate in-person collection or mobile fundraising journeys, and review reports and exports. Features, limits, fees, and availability may differ by plan and order form.

Payment processing is provided through third-party payment services such as Stripe. SwiftCause does not receive or store full payment-card numbers when the payment provider handles the card entry and processing.

Organisation responsibilities

The organisation must provide accurate account and campaign information, use the service lawfully, protect its credentials and devices, control staff access, and ensure that its instructions and notices are appropriate for donors, Gift Aid, children, and other data subjects. The organisation remains responsible for its fundraising, tax, Gift Aid, and charity-law decisions.

The organisation must not use SwiftCause to upload unlawful, malicious, discriminatory, or misleading content, to attempt unauthorised access, or to interfere with the service or another tenant.

Data protection and third parties

The Privacy notice, Cookies notice, Data rights page, and the applicable data processing agreement explain how personal data is handled. Depending on the processing activity, the organisation may be the controller and SwiftCause the processor, while SwiftCause may be a controller for its own platform administration, support, security, billing, and marketing.

Third-party providers, including Stripe, Firebase/Google, Brevo, hosting, analytics, and reCAPTCHA, may have their own terms and privacy information. Their use is subject to the configured service and approved vendor and subprocessor arrangements.

Intellectual property, availability, and changes

Each party keeps the rights it owned before using the service. The organisation grants SwiftCause the limited rights needed to host, process, display, secure, and back up its content to provide the service. SwiftCause retains its platform, software, documentation, and service improvements.

We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, especially where a third-party network, payment, hosting, or security service is unavailable. We may change or retire features with reasonable notice where practical and will preserve required records and evidence.

Ending access and contact

Access may be suspended or ended for security, legal, non-payment, misuse, or at the organisation’s request. The final terms and agreement will explain data return, deletion, retention, and any transition support after termination.
